Ridge Grand Prix Karting & Proshop: Seasonal/Part Time Pay: Minimum Wage


Summary of Duties:  

Ridge Grand Prix (RGP) & ProShop team members will be crossed trained to operate both the external karting track and internal registration process and merchandise sales.  


These responsibilities are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position.


Working outside on the RGP track includes, but is not limited to:

- Ensure karts are routinely inspected for low fuel, tire wear, tire pressure, and other mechanical issues and reporting any issues to a supervisor.

- Ensure that all rental equipment is cleaned and ready prior to opening. 

- Deliver safety briefing before each session to explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants and demonstrate use of materials and equipment.

- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of karting waiting area, track, corner stations, and pit lane. This may entail operating landscaping equipment.  

- Monitoring race sessions for an incidents, debris on track, ect. and reporting issues to supervisor.


Working inside the RGP Registration area includes, but is not limited to:

- Greeting customers as they enter the Proshop and help to answer questions about the facility or direct customers to other areas on property.

- Assist customers in registration process via use of tablets.

- Use of RGP POS system to enter customers into each race heat, selling additional race credits, and selling Ridge Merchandise to customers.

- Maintaining the cleanliness of the Proshop including emptying trash, vacuuming, cleaning counters, and re-stocking/re-folding merchandise as needed.

- Handling both cash and credit card transactions.


Working Conditions: The work environment will include both an indoor and outdoor environment. Exposure to all types of weather and periodic exposure to high decibel levels of noise on track are to be expected.  


- Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends during peak season.  

- Ability to function in a stressful environment.  

- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time and lift at least 50 pounds.  

- Prior experience with handling POS systems or cash/card transactions is preferred.

- Excellent customer service and communication (written and oral) skills.  

- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.  

- Familiarity with computers and tablet devices.

- Willingness to learn basic mechanics.
